I believe this digipack is highly succesful in the way the band are marketed as what stands out above all is the chiraoscuro lighting. For example, the mise en scene is obviously The Kooks standing outside a club with the lighting standing out strongly and contrasting against the band, therefore they stand out to a passing audience in a shop. The way around the outside of the digipak cover is dark, connotes mystery and night time, so the white typography of the bands name contrasts strongly against the dark mise en scene, again making the bands name stand out to there fans. The camera angle used is simply a mid-shot. This is effective because the mid shot enables the audience to view all band members therefore the whole band are being marketed to the audience rather than most bands who have a lead who is marketed the most e.g U2's Bono through camera dominance in album atrwork and also in music video. The us of the mid shot is also for the audience to see the style of clothes the band are wearing, and through this can guess the genre of the music as the band are dress in very india/alternative clothes that matches the style of their music, Therefore this image is projected through the album artwork to target a specific audience in the 'indie' scence.
