when we were set the summer prelimary task of making a short music vdeo me and the group thought it would be quite a simple task, however once we had our idea and started to shoot the fotttage we soon realised that there are many conventions of a music video that have to be in twined in the footage to meet the generic look of a music video e.g close ups of the lead of the band (the star) and shotts of band performance along with brief narrative. The conventions made the task alot harder for the group as the amount of footage we needed made the days of filming very time consuming and overlap.
Even though it was a short sequence of a music video i believe the task prepared us for our A2 task of making a full music video. As we were able to pratically film the conventional shotts of a music video, and practice how to edit a music video on final cut which differs from the edits and trastions used in our AS opeing sequence.
from looking over a preliamry task i believe it was a success as the problems we encounted when filiming would probably occur during the filming of our A2 music video, therefore we would all ready know how to over come them. It also helped use when planning as we knew that music ideos where highly time consuming and therefore we were abe to divise an acurate filming shedule.
